As hundreds of thousands of students get excited about heading to the ivory towers, the purpose of a university education has never been more contested. To most, it’s now little more than advanced vocational training, preparing a new generation of Britons to serve their economic utility to society. We've just come across Mujadad Zaman's excellent article about what you you should read if you want to get the process of real education started.
